Healthy people, healthier living environment

Corona policies have made us rethink our health and our living environment. Partly thanks to the regulations to work from home, the Dutch have rediscovered the outdoors. For health reasons, for relaxation and entertainment, but sometimes also out of pure necessity. The corona crisis fueled enthusiasm for urban greenery and a healthier living environment. At the same time, it was shown that the indoor and outdoor spaces in the Netherlands are not always equally distributed.

We discuss this complicated and at the same time promising situation with Mariëlle Beenackers, public health researcher and epidemiologist at Erasmus MC, and with Max Beijneveld, Sustainable City Advisor for the Municipality of Amsterdam.
